Wow. What a glorious b-day-plus! My camera & laptop are not currently on speaking terms, sadly, but luckily [livejournal.com profile] wildwoosi took and posted a mess of great pics from my b-day weekend down in the Bay Area (Carmel Highlands, Big Sur, Cafe Kevah for b-fast & Deetjens for dinner, Solano Stroll): Clickie for Pickies.

Eventually I'll also post pics from the week after that (last week) when [livejournal.com profile] lightfoote and I Toad Ripped many back roads and lovely highways in Oregon, camped along the N Umpqua River at a really nice campground just off Hwy 138 (Susan Creek), hiked along the Mt Thielsen trail, then returned to the Hive for kittenhead love, to greet [livejournal.com profile] wildwoosi for another nice we3 weekend after a good visit w/[livejournal.com profile] dwights &c.

The we3 Return to Breitenbush (for their HandFasting'iversary) didn't quite go as planned as BBX'd inadvertently not noticed that 'twas an All-Women retreat weekend so the guy in our party didn't quite fit into the scene. We3 recovered from the plan-shift, drove along more lovely highways listening to great compilations, explored uncharted waters, and spent the night in Sisters at a hotel w/llamas and a large jacuzzi tub (not in that order or all in the same place - the llamas were in a field next to our building...oh, never mind ;-) We3 got in some awesome Toad Ripping and experienced the shifts from Cental Oregon's Ponderosa Pines to the more Western lush greenergy w/walking along lava fields and viewing post-forest fire remains along with a wander through a local arts & crafs fair tossed in for contrast. Then Sat night [livejournal.com profile] wildwoosi got her first taste of the numbliciousness that is Apizza Scholls and we settled down for a final night at the Hive before they headed back Northward to CopperMoon via Sidhehaven yesterday while I dove into catching up w/LJ.

And I just made reservations for we3 to celebrate our becoming we3 in February 2010 at Breitenbush, so all's well along that front!

I am at peace and happy. Life is good.

am contemplating trying to stay a night with mom out there during a non-peak time next year. Have you stayed in the lodges or the dorms ever? Good things or bad to say about any of it? I know she's on a tighter budget this coming year and won't make it to Faerieworlds...I'm even considering not doing that this year in favor of doing B&B recon...but that would mean she'd be stuck in TX with no reprieve...and I figured this isn't too expensive. So, thoughts? Want to see if we can't turn this into a small group fun thing during spring break maybe? Share your thinky-thoughts please. I love you!

I'm sorry to hear that she won't be able to make it to Faerieworlds. D:

Sounds wonderful, with the bonus of being at peace and happy. I believe I am headed in that direction.
