Been a while since I lost - and also found - myself this deeply in a book...since one took me so far and deep inside and also beyond myself. Remembering again why Hermann Hesse is one of my fave authors. Re?reading Narziss & Goldmund now. Many thoughts and feelings swirling 'round. Lots more to say...but sleep beckons. It's gonna be hot again tomorrow and I need to get up early(ish) when it's still cool to accomplish what's on the ToDo list(s) before I once again succumb to heat-induced lethargy.

I am quite pleased to have rediscovered the joy of baths: cool ones for relaxation and recovery from the heat, wherein I can read, get/be comfie, and successfully engage in more of the worthwhile BAPAMAP process. Bathtime - it's not just for Winter anymore, which pleases me greatly.

I think I'm going to need to reread Steppenwolf once I finish grad school. I feel like I'm approaching an unavoidable reassessment of who I am, and that book has always featured prominently in similar inflection points in my life. Maybe Glass Bead Game as well.

Amazing how the rereading of certain seminal works at major turning points in one's life helps us find more than we originally gathered.

I've been reading more lately too; I guess it must be the season, when it's too hot to do anything else. ;o)
