The Amazing [livejournal.com profile] lightfoote (ALF) made a magnificent dinner tonight: leg o' lamb rubbed well w/rosemary and garlic, roasted new potatoes and beets, and steamed rainbow chard (w/fresh pineapple for dessert). This followed a lovely day roaming the back roads over by the Columbia River Gorge and then out SouthEast a ways as well, lunching on roast chicken and veggies on the banks of the Clackamas River. He's sleeping now. I'm up for another hour or so while the stock simmers in preparation for lamb stew o'morrow. Glorious weekend and day celebrating properly. ;-)

O'morrow's looking to be marvelous as well...happy happy joy joy. Peace & Love In & Out.

what do you put on your swiss chard to season it? All I ever can think of is balsamic vinegar

We ate it sprinkled w/balsamic vinegar. It's also good w/butter & salt & pepper. ALF also suggests stir-frying w/sesame seeds.
