Lovely Day

I thoroughly enjoyed today's sunshine by busting my butt in the backyard, pulling up weeds along all three (3) sides of the yard/flower garden to help whatever flowers/plants the landladies (or previous owner(s)) put in) thrive as best they could. Why they chose to stick roses in dark out of the way spots confounds me! In the way back corner, behind the dog house, where I had to squeeze past one of those oddly-place rose bushes to get at, I declared war on - and ultimately victory over...for now anyway - the neighbor's ground-cover which has decided to try to infiltrate my territory as well. Beneath it all I discovered three (3) l'il holly trees, gamely hanging on, which now have room and light in which to grow. Filled up my huge PDX city compost/greenwaste bin and s'more into some of the huge paper baggies as well. Phew!

Also posted a pic from my grandmother's wedding 30+ years ago on FaceBook. This prompted discussion and memories amongst nearly all of us cousins, some of whom haven't seen each other in years. FB is really good for this sorta thing.

Sampled the new local food cart's wares this afternoon: NUMBLY oyster PoBoy! Just got txt msg from lightfoote who'll be pulling into the downtown Amtrak station in a bit, so I'm off to fetch him now. It's gonna be a(nother) glorious weekend!
