Social Network Overwhelm

Wandered back over to FaceBook today. I'd set one up a year ago (when the Big Flood of 2007 happened) at the urging of and with the help of lordandrei, as I'm a Techno Tyro and prefer my hand held for new stuff like this. Have scarcely been back since. Could likely spend a LOT of time there w/out really noticing. And I've got time to spare...but now I'm realizing I need to figure out how/where to spend/focus it. Much food for thought to munch-crunch on. I'd rather DO things w/people than just write 'bout it.

I generally avoid Facebook for the same reasons I avoid MMOs - I know the immediacy of the form of communication and my constant desire for More Data mean I would be inclined to be plugged in all the time. At least with LJ it feels like there is an ability to step away without missing too much.

Yeah, I haven't assimilated to FaceBook and think I'm going to keep it that way. LJ is more than enough for me to keep up with and serves it's purpose.
