I want a Bloody Mary. What should I do to satisfy this itch? (No, I'm not going anywhere to get one.) Thank you.

EDIT: Thx for suggestions. We've found a recipe we're trying: it's called Algonquin. And it's quite good! But in an amazing bit of irony, here we are in the worst Winter weather in the PacNW in years and the one thing we're missing:

ICE CUBES!

If it's available, a tomato (or can of tomato juice) and some vodka, salt and pepper.

Oh, WOW. I'm impressed.

We're ending up doing something involving vodka, tom juice, lime juice, Worcester sauce, and salt & pepper to taste.

Actually, we're highly amused. It'll serve as garnish (it's one of the main reason for declaring tonight Bloody Mary night - to use up what's in the fridge, such as celery ;-)

Thx!

*nods head and also directs [livejournal.com profile] lightfoote (the designated bartender for the evening) to add Worcestishire (sp) sauce, fresh lime juice, and Tabasco*

If you have it, a stick of celery for garnish by the way. :)

And of course. I went with the pure basics.

Of course, I am spoiled. In my fridge is celery and Worcestershire sauce, in my pantry is V8 single serving cans and Tabasco; and I have the alcohol cabinet of doom. Because it's me and I can't stand not having a well stocked bar on demand (or whim). ;)

are you saying that i'm the only one who equates the flavor of a bloody mary with bacon?

You're right, that's a sick twist of irony.

And you have to admit it's been a while since you had one (and NO, I'm not advocating you refresh your memory).

hm, maybe I should have a pepper martini tonight...

of course, the pepper vodka makes great bloody marys - but you'd have to be *here* for that...

Actually, they have individual cans of bloody mary mix at pretty much any store. It's spicy tomato juice essentially. :)

At least to watch the other person drink. >:)

I prefer foregoing mixes in favor of doing it myself, actually. (Um, or having the sub make it, ideally ;-) (The Acolyte of Delight's being quite delightful this evening.)
