This past w'end, I trained up to Tacoma on Thursday to meet up w/

lightfoote. We then drove (mostly coastally - stopping off for tasty grilled oyster tacos and clam chowder in South Bend, WA and a lovely sunset) down to Astoria, OR to celebrate the 1st anniversary of our 1st date. Clickie for My Pickies from Our 2007 Trip and over here we have

lighfoote's pics from that adventure. A year ago we were still a bit tentative and unsure of each other and of possibilities...not so much these days. Still lots to learn 'bout each other (and ourselves) and loads to experience and there's no way of telling where things'll go and/or end up, but it's a lovely ride/time/life and I'm thrilled every day and certain of how I feel and hopeful for continued wonderfulness and blisstacy and growth and joy and passion. ALF & I cruised back country roads on Saturday on our way to hook up at the Vorpal Bunny Clan w/good folks gathered there (waves to

jadub, and others who's LJ monikers I don't know off the top of my head) for the trad'l seasonal squash maiming session. Her Wildness aka

wildwoosi joined us all after her metal-working class (here's what she made!) and we all enjoyed a fine repast courtesy of

nascar24_48's mad tuna-grilling skills and

vismaya_viewer numbly culinary prowess. Great company, companionship, community! The CopperMoon crew bailed prior to drumming, tired after much driving (WW from Seattle after an all-day class and ALF & I from Astoria). We all crawled into bed after sampling the deep jacuzzi tub at our hotel. Late Sunday morning we breakfasted at Darby's Cafe in Olympia then headed our separate ways (CopperMoon and Hive).

Upon returning home yesterday, I managed to read fiction in the bubble-filled bathtub, give & receive much kittenhead love, nap, start reading LJ (not sure I'm gonna catch up...skimming's the best I can manage after being gone this long ;-), putter about, and think some of what I'll do this week before heading North again on Thursday (a return to the Grind after MONTHS away) and carpooling back to the Hive w/ALF & WW via VBC on Friday for the w'end. Whew!
