Summing Up
Apr. 20th, 2008 05:54 pmAnother glorious w'end. It all began w/dinner at Cedars-That-Is-No-Longer up in Seattle. Major yum! Really nice as well to see folks I don't get to see very much nowadays.

Afterwards,
lightfoote and I blazed all the way down to the Hive rather than sleep over at Sidhehaven and have to drive s'more on Friday. The threatened Winter-ish storm never materialized in Portland. No snow, just some hail and a bit of (well-timed) rain mixed w/intermittent bouts of sunshine and pretty cloudiness.
Friday featured the Flounce...and more. Saturday we walked and walked and walked, finally taking the bus up Hawthorne Blvd at the very end of the day, arriving back at the Hive just as the rain began. You can see and experience so much more when you walk than when you drive. We wandered through Laurelhurst Park, scored goodies (free CDs and candy!) at Music Millenium, found the new home of the Velveteria (Museum of Velvet Paintings), happily hit Hippo hardware, saw oodles of folks waiting for what looks like a fine place numbly chow - Screen Door, drank good beer and played pool at the Lucky Lab, bought books at Powell's, walked over two (2) more bridges (Burnside and Morison - my goal is to walk over all those that allow pedestrians), &c.
Today we enjoyed a very pleasant visit to McMenamins 205 w/
tanuki_green - looking forward to more time w/him and w/
copperwise as well - 'til the time came to drive to the airport. And now...well, now I'm once again home alone (mostly - Havana and Fargo're silently sleeping)...and my heart's aching just a teensy bit.
Ooooh, big peal of thunder. The clouds're solid black out in one direction and the winds're picking up. Perhaps that big storm'll materialize this w'end after all...
