Okay, NOW I'll admit to a certain amount of trepidation and concern about the recent two (2) phone calls from the landladies saying they wanted "to chat" w/me. Turns out they're just checking in on MY desires and status since when I moved in (last March) I said I wanted to rent for about a year then consider buying a place myself. They're not interested in (dealing with) selling the place - unless I wanted to buy it, which I really do NOT want to do even though they sound interested in selling it to me. I told 'em I'm not thinking of moving anytime soon. It's a weight off, even though I didn't even begin worrying about this until this morning. Managed to keep the worry fairly mild, but I AM glad they called me back when they did 'cause I was on the verge of Mild Stationary Panic (precursor to Full Bore Panic). Yes, I took the call in the bathtub, 'cause I was relaxing w/bubbles and hot water but sensibly had the phone right next to the tub.

Hard to believe I've been living in the PacNW for nearly an entire year now. Feels far longer, when it's not feeling like hardly t'other day that I moved, that is. I've enjoyed meeting so many good new people and getting to know some quite well...and look forward to continuing the trend.

For now, I'm hibernating some. Feeling a need to stay put, to stay inside (my head), to refrain from socializing a whole bunch, to take some ME time. Took a nice long walk up to Mt Tabor this morning, timing it just right so that I only got rained on the final block back to the house. Storms're due in later today and for the next couple of days, dumping snow at elevations as low as 500'. Good time for my magickal retreat!

Glad everything is okay with your house.

The hibernating sounds like a lovely idea.

Thx. I'm just glad I managed to make the time to hibernate rather than continually socialize...things pull me out, but I NEED to spend some more time IN. Hope things're okay in your neck of the woods...

It really does feel like you just moved up here yesterday... and at the same time as though you've been around forever... Lucky us.

Out of curiousity, why would you not want to buy The Hive?

#1: No fireplace. #2: Needs lots of work and I'd rather buy a place that's not so much of a fixer-upper. (This may change...or rather my ability to buy anyplace may require I do loads more fixing-upping than I currently wanna deal with, but 'til then, I'm happy to rent and let Them deal w/stuff 'n' things.) #3: I love it here in Portland, but have so many friends up in your neck o' the woods (such as YOU), that I'm not sure where I wanna settle down(ish) yet.
