Harvesting New Experiences
Jan. 6th, 2008 04:17 pmI've once again (4th time) passed along a car to my l'il bro. When my first car (orange 1980 Datsun 210 Wagon - the Pumpkin) died, he took it, rebuilt the engine, and used it for several years. Later on he ended up w/my first Chevelle (1972 Malibu - what a sweet change 'twas from the Pumpkin - this had POWER...not to mention exceptionally sh!tty gas mileage). Next was my bio-pop's champagne colored early '90s Volvo, which he still has (and is hoping to sell ASAP). Now he's also got the 1984 Porsche (911 Carrera - Targa).
I had a lot of fun w/the sporty car, but'm done. Took it on various trips, such as up to Big Bear and up the coast (all the way to Carmel/Monterey) and even up to Snoqualmie Falls (a month or so after a fun road trip from SoCal to Portland w/
ebony_sphynx last summer). In general though, I prefer road tripping in the more comfie car (automatic transmission w/good view from on high). Gid can sell it, give me the money (less expenses), and pay down some of his debt in the process.
He drove me back to AJ/UD's and got the tour, which of course included harvesting and sampling various fruits (cheromoya - his first experience, pomengranites - another first, avocados - first time picking, tangerines, lemons, and limes). Looking forward to May when there'll be even more!
Not gonna acknowledge the start of a sore throat or stuffy nose...just gonna go suck down some Airborne and pray for l'il rain for o'morrow's D&D (dentistry followed by D-land) expedition.
Tu: an LAX run (retrieving an aunt from the East Coast) and New Moon rit (not together, mind you)
Wed: numbly tea w/fambily at Huntington Gardens
Th: fly home
