mlerules: (L'il Engine That Could)

Today's the first day in a LONG-@ss time that I've had NOTHING scheduled. (Um, by which I mean Wednesday, still "today" in my book as I haven't gone to sleep yet.) Well, there'd been something tentative, but it fell through, which worked out just fine. Finally got around to taking care of a whole mess of stuff 'n' things I've been meaning and wanting to do for yonks. So, now my good intentions have transmuted into actions done and items crossed off from the ToDo list, which pleases me greatly, while making life nicer.

Mi casa's far warmer now w/heavy (and marvelously silly) curtains drawn over the window and door to the back porch. I'll push 'em aside during the day to let the light in, but once it gets dark/cold and I pull 'em shut, they insulate the kitchen quite nicely. Decided to shift out the bee (living room) and dragon (dining room) curtains 'til it warms up again, replacing 'em for now w/warmer ones for the same reason ('specially once I experienced the difference it made in [livejournal.com profile] delerium3's bedroom).

Other items crossed off the list include shifting lighting fixtures around, adding daylight bulbs where needed/helpful, shifting art on walls and deciding where other stuff'll go, blah blah blah.

O'morrow: checking in on-line w/SW, printing boarding passes, paying bills, doing laundry, putting up rest of curtains (dining and living rooms), packing, making dinner, mebbe getting the right kind of DVD-Rs for backing up the photos on my laptop and doing that.

Not sure either. The sense of satisfaction's prolly a bit greater from the latter b'c it also involves the loss of residual guilt from not having done 'em far earlier/before. Re: the former - generally I actively ENJOY lining 'em up...planning activities is part of their fun and enjoyment. I like to wind things up, get 'em ready, then push that first domino and see what happens...and if'n it doesn't go as I've planned, that's fine, too...and often quite interesting.
