Doctor Who
Dec. 3rd, 2007 11:45 pmSilver lining to today's bad weather and traffic: this evening, the oh-so-kind
lordandrei,
shimmeringjemmy, and
elocinnuala initiated me into the mysteries of Doctor Who (new stuff, season one, Rose and Un-whatever Dead). Good stuff. I want more. Now though: sleep.
EDIT: I now own a Thomas Bros. Guide for the surrounding counties (Seattle and environs).
EDIT2: Luckily I'm safe and sound in Bothell, WA, outside Seattle. Unfortunately, while it usually takes 3 hours to travel from Seattle to Portland, the suggested detour takes 7 hours, assuming GOOD WEATHER AND GOOD DRIVING CONDITIONS:
East on Oregon's Interstate 84 then north on Highway 82 to the Tri-Cities and Yakima and then west on Interstate 90 to Seattle — a roughly 440 mile route compared to roughly 176 miles between Seattle and Portland on I-5.
I've actually done this before. I do NOT plan on doing this again. *UGH*...*sigh*
Oh, here's a map of a mess of road closures. See the cluster of red numbered circles? That's pretty much where I'm currently located, although I'm safe and sound and warm and dry and w/friends and not going anywhere for a while.
EDIT3: FYI: Here's a frequently updated list of the King County Road Conditions & Closures along w/similar info for Snohomish County.
Oh, yeah, I've now also gotten sucked into Facebook...
