Thank goodness for e-mail, text msg'ing, foresight in the form of having someone (forget who, likely LJ-less M) program in AM 710 for local (Seattle-ish) traffic and weather reports, friends who've called w/concern and advice, LJ-less L who's called assuring me that the kitties're fine and all's well at home, and most importantly, [livejournal.com profile] elocinnuala who answered the phone and invited me to lunch w/her and her mom in Woodinville. It's not so easy getting in and out of Woodinville this afternoon, but I managed it and am now well-fed and happily ensconced in Bothell chez the FreePeople 'til o'morrow when I'll head back home (assuming roads're passable by then).

the latest I've heard is that I-5 is closed north & southbound from exit 88 to exit 67.. and they're saying it might stay closed until Wed....

This is from King 5:

3:47 p.m.: A 20-mile stretch of I-5 is closing due to flooding. I-5 will be closed from exit 88 near Grand Mound (approximately 20 miles south of Olympia) to exit 68 (11 miles south of Chehalis) due to flooding. The freeway will remain closed for at least 36 hours and likely longer while crews wait for the Chehalis River (at milepost 77-79) and Dillenbaugh Creek (at milepost 74) to recede. This is the first complete freeway closure due to flooding in this area since 1996.
