Labels 'n' Roles
Oct. 22nd, 2007 02:29 pmThere're times when this role chafes. Yeah, I assign it to myself, it's my own dang-blamed fault if'n it's an issue, I know this. I don't want folks to be/get hurt. I want to avoid drama. But I ain't gonna live in a cave. I'll take what precautions seem appropriate then let loose to the winds and watch where they blow.

Date: 2007-10-22 09:46 pm (UTC)Since, however, you care to ask, I'll let on that I find myself on occasion filling the role of "mom." I've even got a friend (or two) down South who call me "mom" on occasion (not usually when we're smooching), 'cause I can 'n' do organize things 'n' facilitate things 'n' help things happen (at all/smoothly), 'cause I truly believe that an ounce of prevention's worth a pound of cure. At times, however, such "help" isn't necessarily warranted and/or appreciated. So I make judgment calls based on experience and my "read" of a situation and then I act...and then deal w/the fall-out, if any.
Really, it'd be so much easier if'n all existing r-ships came w/manuals so you could just read the rules and easily identify the boundaries w/in the r-ship vis-a-vis all possible scenarios and add-ons and possibilities, 'cause then you wouldn't have to figure it/'em out and/or ask all sorts of ackward (sp) questions and "mom" to make sure that folks've thought 'n' talked things through themselves and communicated such rules/boundaries/decisions/&c. with all who need to know 'em, 'cause even if'n it's really no business of mine, if'n it affects those I care about deeply so I'll interfere 'n' ask qx possibly outta line. *sigh*
Is this clearer now?
