<100 Hours
Oct. 7th, 2007 05:32 pmIt's been one of those times when time slows way down, like molasses in January. I've only been gone for under 100 hours, yet it seems as if weeks have elapsed. This is a Very Good Thing.Brief recap:
Wed: Baked butterscotch brownies. Drove Northward. Grand fun w/great people. There were alligators in the house. Tangoing was attempted. An orange phoenix emerged from my leg. I was put in mind of the Poxy Boggards song "We Have No Pants." Games played included Guillotine and 1000 Blank White Index Cards. Stayed up late late late chatting away quite delightfully.
Th: Another really good day. Continued the chatting w/
shivana and
elocinnuala and went out for numbly b-fast at a place which I've forgotten the name of and it's written down on some paper in the car but I'm lazy so won't go get it b'c there're kittenheads massing and it's raining. Finally got around to going to Babeland. Now have a really good reason to compile yet another playlist...and start using an iPod. Hee! Hugged a friend in need. Finished watching all of season one of BSG. Went out to the Grind and had a fine time dancing and socializing.
Fri: Slept in then headed Eastward to CopperMoon to visit w/
lightfoote and
wildwoosi. Went out and helped take down (most of) a llama shelter, then we got gussied up and headed out to Everett for Hair and reception beforehand. Several folks asked whether we were part of the cast. Grand fun was had by all! The soundtrack's still running through my head. Some pics're here, but only some folks'll be able to see 'em, 'cause they're not mine: Llamas and Hair attire.
Sat: Helped herd and load and transport a dozen llamas from Snohomish to Monroe. Ate numbly salmon and fresh corn. Amused ourselves w/talk of O's. Much companionship and laughter.
Sun: The weather cooperated admirably. We wandered about CopperMoon, enjoying Nature thoroughly, visiting FaerieLand, bushwacking, sitting on a bench on the dock looking out at the lake. Then I drove home.
Next up: Leaving o'morrow morning w/LJ-less J to drive straight through to SoCal (16 hours or so). Mebbe visit folks in San Diego. Help
delerium3 load the U-Haul trailer and drive it back up w/her to her home chez Clan Sidhefire. Then help unload it and go see/hear/enjoy Gaia Consort in Seattle next Sat. Home again on Sun, most likely. I'm tempted by grave tea, but really should end up home again someday!
Overall report on the state of the Em: heart full (nearly to bursting - in a good Good GOOD way), muchly contented, big smiles, satisfaction level = great. It's been six (6) months and a bit since I moved up here and I've met - and gotten to know better - so many good people. Feel like saying something massively profound here, but words aren't coming. Suffice it to say that I'm happy and content.
