The Lavendar Flash Mob
Aug. 13th, 2007 09:47 pmJust experienced a random act of kindness that's left me - and a mess of folks who benefited similarly - with a big smile (and a clump of fresh lavender). L and I were sitting at the Bagdad, enjoying pub grub 'n' beer and the slow fading blue to purple to black of the sky, when three (3) people carrying huge armloads of fresh lavender strolled by, passing it out along the way. When asked "why?" by the folks at the next table, one guy responded simply, "because we can." The smell wafted through the air as dozens of people clutched their clumps and smiled at each other, momentarily brought a little bit closer through the simple efforts of a few folks w/more lavender than they knew what to do with and a desire to share the wealth. Far better than a bumper sticker promoting such acts is their practice.
