PSA: Orson Scott Card's novel Lost Boys has nothing whatsoever to do w/the film The Lost Boys. That being said, it's been a while since I've cried so much at the end of a book.
As much as I love Orson Scott Card I doubt I'll read that one. I've had one too many books recently (something I never thought I'd say) where I've ended up crying at the end or feeling sorrow. It's almost as hard as real life when a good author pulls you in and makes you truly identify with the characters.
It was strange reading a portrayal of Mormons that didn't show them as the bizarre psychos down the street. Reading this book gave me the experience of reading on in fascinated horror as the story unfolded, in the end, in a way that I knew it would but prayed that it wouldn't. To put it tritely, it was a real tear-jerker and I'd highly recommend it to pretty well anyone.
