The marketing blurb pulled me in...and I liked it (all over again). Despite not living up to the billing as "the Moulin Rouge of 1980," Xanadu was still great fun. Sure, the acting and dialogue SUCKED (big-time), but I still liked the music and dancing. Contrasting 1940's music/styles w/The Tubes & ELO worked out quite well. Yeah. I'm a sucker for musicals. Gene Kelly is a god. Next up: Dirty Dancing. Yeah. I've got cable on demand.

EDIT: Now I really really wanna make it down South for OTHE.L.O. Fingers crossed it extends its run into or finds another venue for September.

I was thinking about how I wanted to watch that. Xanadu, I mean. Haha. I have a VERY vague memory of it as a rainy day movie while in 1st grade or thereabout. A young me. I remember something about roller skates and I wanted to go skating and then I think I zoned off or something.

Okay if you are watching Comcast On Demand, in the free movies they have the astoundlignly unwatchable "Night Train to Venice" -- put it at the top of your Must NOT See list. As much as I adore Hugh Grant, I could not take more than twenty minutes of it. I like the Bond films and westerns they have though.

Thx for the tip. Yeah, a while back [livejournal.com profile] delerium3 and I wandered through the list of freebies and noted all the classic Bonds and spaghetti Westerns. I've been on more of a musicals kick lately. Have you seen Reefer Madness (The Musical) (not on demand, but I've got it on DVD)? It's well worth watching!

Hope all's well w/you and yours these days. I've been getting my place in order and doing a bit of traveling (mostly SoCal). It'd be nice to see you again before long.
