sidhefire came down from WA today and we had a mighty fine time! She brought a couple of plants, a packet of nasturtium seeds, a dozen colorful fresh laid eggs from her chix, a great soul catcher made by
ulesegisa, and a delightful willingness to help out. Again w/the balance: we wandered down Hawthorne Blvd to lunch at BridgePort AleHouse, poking our heads into Powell's Home & Garden Bookstore (w/out too much damage) on the way back, then got down to brass tacks. A mess of books now reside properly in shelves rather than boxes. A bunch o' boxes of camping etc. gear now live in the basement, where they belong. I've got floor space in the living room. I'm so pleased that a whole bunch of my old cardboard boxes will live on in better things as they wing their way up to WA to become part of sustainable agricultural practices (wet ground, lay out cardboard, top w/bark mulch, let worms do their thing...make grass go away and make good growable area for other stuff as desired and clean ground cover otherwise). We drove up and around Mt Tabor Park then dined at
Hoda's then sat in the living room w/tea, chatting and making plans and having a fine ole time. Wheee!
EDIT: Topping it all off, today was a gloriously warm day w/sunshine and clouds dotting the sky to keep it interesting!
