To escape (and feed), I went walking in my neighborhood. There's loads o' restaurants and shops close by! Today I lunched at Jack's Shack (hot dogs & sausages, w/veggie & turkey options) which stays open everyday 'til 3am. Enjoyed the Chicago Dog, even though it's failure vis-a-vis the requisite bright blue-green relish and celery salt makes it not a proper one.

Damn I'm lucky/happy/thrilled to be here. Let the adventures commence/continue!

Crazy, traffic sucks. Tomorrow will be crazy, and I get the joys of doing my taxes which means paying the gov. lots of money because I dare to be independent. The cat pooped on the bed. I guess he doesn't want me to miss Fargo. Where are the grocery stores? I think I'll look up Trader Joe's and see if there is one near. Bob is being very understanding. YAY Bob.

Oh yea, and do you want me to take everything in the garage or just the bike & cooler? I have them, actually, they've been in my car for a few days now. No time to get it to Canyon Country yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

Hmm, I can't quite remember what's in the garage anyway at this point. I snagged the lamp for Wolf and'll take it to Timmy's to pass along to him.

I thought mebbe it'd be good to have the cooler for the party, 'cause I'll be bringing excess booze. Ah, THAT's what's in the garage, now that I think 'bout it. ;-) Best to let me sort through it b'c some of it I want and'll either stash in the game room or drive up next week.

*sigh* re: cat poopage...ugh. I do hope Fargo (or Havana) has weathered the chaos storm WITHOUT any similar expressions of displeasure.

That Whole Foods sucks. It's tiny, has increadibly poor parking (worse than TJ's) and very little selection.

I definitely recommend TJ's and if you're feeling adventureous there's a Jon's market (ethinic Mexican/Armenian mostly) up by the Assylum on Magnolia. There's also a Vallarta (Mexican) right near my place. I have to say though, neither of these places have a whole lot in the way of natural/organics.

That and the lack of things within walking distance is a drawback to this neighborhood.

Yeah, the Whole Foods was walking distance from one of the schools where I did my student teaching so I dinna have to deal w/the craptacular parking.

Yeah, I always just stop at the one in Glendale when I'm back in the old 'hood.
