Emotional Surge Suppressors

Today's errands included getting replacement surge suppressors for various electronic components 'round mi casa. As I drove 'round town, I could feel now 'n' again an overwhelm building, yet it never got bad. It's as if some sort of emotional damper - an emotional surge suppressor - kicked in automatically. Took me back to two (2) occasions: (1) the bad bad times at UCSC where I spent hours...daze...listening to muzak (depression) and (2) the smile on my face whilst listening to piped in Talking Heads muzak just last Thursday at Anderson's Casa de Split Pea Soup in Buellton (just plain wrong!). Music that soothes the savage beast.
Disconnects.
Disconnects.

Or a grounding wire which places the nasty charge into the ground which deals with it natually and well.

Date: 2007-01-19 04:49 am (UTC)Thx for the suggestion. I think I did get one of these thingiemabobs, but don't really know what to plug into where (cable modem, etc.) Perhaps you'd be willing to help me figure it out the Wed eve when I'm back in town (2/7)?

Quite like the other metaphors you suggest...thx!
