Joining the Fold
Jan. 4th, 2007 03:51 amBaaah. I'm actually starting to look fwd to't, even though I'm gonna SUCK at it (in a bad way). Oh, wait, this ain't a good attitude at ALL. Okay, ripped the needle off that record (rotating noisemaking device)...I'll do what I can w/it and see how it goes. Mebbe I'm not all thumbs and have some aptitude...if'n I PRACTICE then mebbe I'll do okay. I'm just so much more inclined intellectually & orally than craftily & handily. Time to broaden those horizons s'more! Feel free to keep the obvious one-liners to a minimum...unless you just can't help yourself and/or you're clever about it. ;-)

You'll be using wood instead of metal...that's much more comfortable. We'll start you off on easy things. Just be aware that muscling through isn't always the best method, but sometimes it is. Listen to your anxiety levels and be conscious of when you need to take a break, a walk, a nap. Sometimes music helps, sometimes movies do, sometimes silence is sublime. Be communicative. It's just like in a friendship, you have to pay attention to yourself as much as to the creature in your hands.
Also, if one form doesn't work for you, there are many other avenues available. We can try them all. It's just like being given a freebee coupon to the candy store.
