Butterfly Snatching & Forged Charm(s)
Nov. 29th, 2006 11:26 pmForging: heating/molding/creating, fabricating/copying/faking. Do we create our own existence or merely forge our identity. As if there's but ONE (1) identity to each of us! Obvious soundtrack item: What Am I To You? (Thx Norah.)
Feeling a need and a desire to grab a few of the butterflies flitting about in my mind and pin 'em down for a while, take a snapshot, grab hold of a moment, of a thought or two...even as I realize I need a change, perhaps a drastic change. My life = punctuated equilibrium. And it's time. It feels as if I've done nothing and as if I wanna do something. Just Do It. And so it goes...
***
It's better to be alone than with the wrong person. How would I know? Not gonna say. Sometimes I think I know everything/it all; sometimes I know I know next to nothing. 'Cause intuition counts as well as knowledge. But what's right then doesn't always...last.
***
Charms. Good or bad or indifferent? No. Never indifferent.

Date: 2006-11-30 05:48 pm (UTC)I just was reading part of a book last night.. and when I read what you wrote.. this quote jumped back into my mind:
"Identity can't be compartmentalised. You can't divide it up into halves or thirds or any other seperate segments. I haven't got several identities: I've got just one, made up of many components in a mixture that is unique to me, just as other people's identity is unique to them as individuals."
- The book is called In the Name of Identity - Violence and the Need to Belong, by Amin Maalouf
