Insanity, Modified

Not long ago, within the past hour in fact, I began an LJ post w/the subject line "Insanity" as follows: "May I not regret this... Off in a bit for Carmel," which made me think I'd prolly regret it, "it" being leaving for Carmel feeling this tired. So, after much back-and-forthing (initially typed as back-and-frothing which ain't as different as I'd like) and chatting w/friends, I've decided NOT to drive to Carmel tonight and then to Mendocino o'morrow, but instead will leave for Mendocino o'morrow morning and blast up Hwy 5 then cut over to 101 either via 580 or further North. Phew! That's a load off...

Okay, I must jot this down to do something w/later: if someone does something and we like it, it's best NOT to fall into the mindset of "oh, I like that person, s/he's the sort of person who does X." 'Cause right there's the problem, did you catch it? "The sort of person." This can lead to concerns/issues along the line of "s/he doesn't like ME, s/he likes the IDEA of me." Current sitch: Pedestals = EMPTY. Not looking to fill 'em either. Bugs & bags exist. If not, hell, prolly too damg'd young/inexperienced anyway. Head stuffed w/wool. It's not an unpleasant sensation, just not one for making a whole lot of sense out of anything with at the moment. Or something. Or other.
