Phew!

Never made it into the garage, despite dressing for the occasion (e.g., worse than for laundry-day). DID accomplish a mess of stuff though, which pleases me. Went through piles of mail that'd been collecting on the dining room table, tossed out a mess of recycling, wormed all the plants, snipped off the dead lavender-heads, put the newly built (thx yet again to delerium3) wooden drawered thingies where they belong, made space for her laundry basket in a kitty-free and out of way spot. Pulled out the recipe for cheese enchiladas which I'll make o'morrow or Fri up in Big Bear for reheating as din-din on Sat night when nobody'll feel like cooking after a full day outside RenFairing and/or kayaking and/or walking and/or hiking.

EDIT: Today I also began the culling process. There're a couple stacks of books (mostly philosophy, sociology/anthropology, and classic literature) ready to go out. I think I'm going to offer 'em to folks first 'cause I'd feel better about knowing they're going to happy homes rather than have no idea where they end up. This is SO difficult...it's like getting rid of bits of myself.

Hey doll, you can donate your books to your local library. Depending on how many there are, you can get a receipt for your donation. Any books that are too old to add to the collection will most likely be sold by their "Friends of the Library" to fund programming and special collections for the library... I'm just sayin!'

There're 4 boxes in the garage that're earmarked for the main Sta Monica PLIB. I've talked w/Friends o' Lib and just need to find out WHEN the person in the PLIB is available for book intake for FOL.

If you think you are getting rid of any books I should read, please let me know and I'll jump at the chance for something new to read. I go through books so fast but can be picky so I tend to reread books a thousand times since I know I like them...but that can get depressing sometimes too...kinda like needing to make new friends when you're other friends have all gone to pursue other interests.

Don't quite have a handle on what you like to read. I've got a few I'm NOT getting rid of to lend you if'n you like. In fact, when I was looking at what to bring for next week, I pulled aside a couple good ones w/you in mind.
