Just finished up a 5-day road trip from Sta Monica to Carmel Highlands to Ft Bragg/Mendocino to Crescent City to Lincoln City, OR to Rainier/Yelm, WA. In short, the coastline 'tween CA & mid-OR is GORGEOUS. Took many blue highways, enjoyed much greenery, sampled much cheese (both Tillamook-style and as in cheesiness), gasped over beautiful rocks & waves, saw an eagle grasping a shiny fish in its claws, got stuck for a time on Hwy 1 because of a herd of cows wandering along ON the road, found & sat & nostalgized on the mem'l bench my step-sibs had put up for my step-grandfolks while admiring the view of Arch Rock (So OR), listened to tons of music, found some damn fine lodgings & eateries along the coast, blah blah blah. And now: zzzzzzzz....
