What About Playbills?

Have attacked one of my place's Black Holes, sorting and filling bags for tossing and recycling and shredding. Apparently the impetus req'd for dealing w/stuff is feeling too crappy to leave the house, yet w/energy to do SOMETHING, combined w/lots of olde school punk music.

It appears that I've kept every single playbill for every single show I've ever seen. (I know this to be true as there's a box labelled - and filled with - Playbills down in the garage.) For now, I'll keep 'em...later on, we shall see. Baby steps...org first.

If you decide to get rid of them, take the time to slap them on eBay, with a meticulous list of which shows (including dates and theaters, and casts if you're so energetic). Worst case scenario, you'll get a couple of bucks for them (which, as long as the buyer pays shipping, is still better than trash), and if there's something rare in there you may actually make some decent money off of it. Believe it or not, old Playbills are collectors items.

Yeah, a friend recently sent me a link showing that my playbill from Lestat in SF (pre-Broadway) earlier this year is selling for $25 on eBay. Go figure!

yes, it's dawned on me that the level of cleaning/tossing i'm currently engaged in is that which usually accompanies moving, which is why it's so incredibly difficult b'c i haven't had to move in over a decade (after my entire life of moving every 1-2-3 years)...can't think 'bout this though...la la la la la ;-)

Me: I'm just smiling... and doing some of the same sort of thing.. lots of "going through stuff" didn't happen when we moved last year.. because I was so very very busy with work.. now is the time.. and I'm starting on getting caught up on stuff I've put off..

They could make a very cool collage. I like memorabilia, cuz, well, it helps me remember. I've kept all my concert t-shirts and have a friend who long ago promised to teach me how to make a quilt from them...

I'm (along w/wife#2) trying to convince my ex that this is the best way to deal w/all his. She's totally willing to do it and it'd be a nice momento for both of them: his memories and her efforts making it.
