Nice eve: walked all about and around, listened to street music - walking down the Promenade's reminds me of driving through AM radio-land where the stations fade out then the next set fades in, running the gamut from funk/soul/R&B medley to rock & roll to mellowness w/flute & acoustic geetar to poorly recreated classic rock, found a store w/photos of various musicians recording albums circa 1967-1971 (including BNLT: Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Johnny Winter), ended up at King's Head, sipping Guinness and watching and greatly enjoying of all things German League Soccer (BundesLiga?) (Hannover & Stuttgart were tied 3-3 when I left), chatting w/UCLA grad students (English - Am Lit & Am/Brit Lit). A very pleasant evening.

That is a beautiful spot you live in. Every once in a while, I miss LA county and Pasadena (is that in LA county?). Early Autumn is my favorite in LA -- just after a good rain. Eggs benedict at the Old World Cafe in Hollywood used to be my idea of heaven. And then there is tea at the Huntington Library -- that is really amazing.
