Lovely Day w/Birdies & Travel
Feb. 4th, 2010 10:13 amThe birdies have returned to the CopperMoon bird feeder, w/over a dozen at a time of small cute feathered things (no, I don't know the type) pecking away at the seed on the ground that's fallen/been knocked outta the birdfeeder by other and/or larger birds. There was a Big Bird (no, not THAT one ;-), mebbe a woodpecker, cleverly eating from the squirrel-proof feeder this morning. It hung from the pole and swiped its beak into the feeding holes, thus by-passing the Large-Weight-Closes-Holes feature. Smart birdie-head!
Anyway, the new (approx) Monthly Hive Weekend Date w/ALF schedule seems to find me driving up to CopperMoon on Wednesday to spend time w/both the Amazing
lightfoote (hence ALF) & Her Wildness
wildwoosi, then fetching the former after work and carpooling w/him back down to Portland on Thursday aft/eve. It's easier than the previous tradition which saw me driving PDX-Bellevue (3 hours), fetching ALF, then driving back down w/him the same day. And now that my Thursday nights're mine again (that's when I had the History of Oregon class in the Fall), ALF doesn't need to take the train or plane down, meeting me after class. I enjoy these mini-Toad Rips w/him and it's fun to visit w/folks (oft-times
vismaya_viewer, sometimes others) along the way when that works out.
Last night was quite fun. ( Read more... )
