EDIT: Re-did b'c I forgot one. Dangnabbit...now I'm not sure 'bout whether we hit NC. Must check w/the ex-hubby who's got a far better memory than I. Way back when we drove across the country (he was teaching 8th grade U.S. history), we stopped and visited a whole mess of Civil War stuff, but I just cannot remember how far down we went.

EDIT2: Yup, we hit NC very briefly precisely so we could mark it off the life-list.

Well, I dunno what I expected, but certainly not THAT. 'Twas great fun! We laughed so hard it hurt. Thx, eain for the on-line introduction to Al. He came over and we walked down for dinner and the movie and hung out and talked and had a fine evening. I'm so pleased to meet more local folks with whom I do and can and will continue to connect!
