On Hold With Phone Companies

Last Fri I called and successfully got my gas, electric, water, and garbage service and accounts started in Portland, OR in less time than I spent on hold w/Verizon today to cancel my local ph svc and direct debit payment plan and give 'em my new address for the final bill. As the inestimable delerium3 puts her prof'l abilities to work for me (packing my artworks for moving), I'm spending hours on-hold and chatting w/various customer svc reps and mechanical computer phone systems (automated for MY convenience - HA!) to handle canceling my local SoCal utilities. Actually, the utilities other than phone svc have been really nice & easy (and quick) to deal with - all the trouble lies w/the phone companies. Gots to just LOVE deregulation! :-(

7 Years Ago Today

I became single again. Today's my first day in possession (legal although not physical) at my rental house in Portland, OR ("PDX"). New times awaited me then, as now. Much happier and more pleased 'bout everything this time 'round though. MY choice & preference for change this time. Grand Adventure awaits my pleasure.
