On Verge of An Epiphany
Feb. 25th, 2006 02:10 pmSometimes it helps hugely talking w/friends 'bout things & stuff you're doing and going through and dealing with b'c they can provide insight you otherwise might miss out on. [And if you end a sentence in two (2) prepositions do they cancel themselves out, sorta like a double-negative?] In figuring out what I GET out of a sitch (yeah, a r-ship), possible benefits include companionship, someone to share oneself with, the expressions of love/caring as described in the 5LoL, f-ship, caring, compassion, something akin to love (if not evol itself). My expectation (certainly my hope) is that I will get something of value...sometimes something more than just the satisfaction of giving. Two-way streets matter...and can rock.
Sharing time and space and experience helps build a bedrock, a foundation, a history, a mythology, a web of connection and connectivity, a tissue of [something]. Why do I think "lies" when I say "tissue of?" Webs are sticky tricky things. Unravelling them's not so good. Or mebbe it's required. Back to topic at hand: a foundation for WHAT?
Marrige and parenthood's no longer the goal. If the former's out, what remains? Testing/proving ground for likes, dislikes, communication strategies, connectivity, satisfaction, sharing, loving...learning more 'bout what works, what doesn't, how people (myself included) tick.
