Taking Care of Stuff

Told the landlord 'bout the plumbing issues and showed him the termite evidence. Hoping that he finds that the Magic Orange Oil will do and the whole place needn't be tented for 1-2 days requiring me to vacate the premises w/the kitties after bagging all food and moving all plants out. Yeah, it'll likely take care of the danged Pantry Moths as well, but it seems a bit extreme. Apparently much of the block's got/getting termites. They leave one place and move on down the block. Now it's our turn.

Today I'm backing up a mess of stuff from my computer, 'cause I'm about to upgrade to Tiger (newest version of OSX). I don't now where my Favorites Folder lives, which is annoying, 'cause I wanna back it up, too.

Later today: I must memorize the colors and #s (1-20) in Spanish. I swear I'm about the only person who's NEVER had Spanish before. Sure, I can count to 3 in Spanish, but then my mind reverts to the French. Everyone else ('cept the absolutely clueless person who can't seem to remember what's being said - and repeated 5-8 times in a row - mere minutes beforehand) seems to know an awful lot of the basics already (e.g., clothes, body parts, things in the classroom).

I'm thinking of how best to organize and prepare and memorize all this stuff...color coded index cards (verbs = orange, masculine nouns = blue, fem n = pink, etc.), lists of verbs. This is the sorta thing I enjoy doing: figuring out the process/method as I go along.

I can never produce the word for 'orange' I KNOW it, but it just doesn't trip off the tongue.

I don't reacall -- do you have cable? Even if you don't but do get the UHF channels I suspect you can find a Spanish version of Sesame Street. And if not Blockbuster may be your friend.

I know soudns stupid but we used those programs occasioanlly in class.
