So, my home/land line phone's been wonky everytime it rains of late, which is quite a bit, as you may have noticed. Usually it manifests its wrongness by the red "on-line" button lighting up and massive static on the line so I can't make, receive, or hear (m)any calls. This morning's trick takes the cake though. Was fast asleep 'til about 20 minutes ago, having gotten not nearly enough sleep last night (and mostly poor at that). Ear plugs are in, as usual. I hear a loud knocking at the front door. Once it trickles through my consciousness, I get up to investigate. Peeking out the window, I see a man w/a flashlight. Gulp. I knock on the window and he identifies himself as a policeman. After checking for badge and ID through the window, I grab a robe and open the door to let him come in and wander around. Apparently the police dept got a 911 hang-up from my phone so must investigate. And yes, I'm GLAD to know they will send someone 'round if'n this happens. But yes, I WILL be giving my phone company (if I can figure out which one is mine these daze) a call 'bout the funky phone issues when it rains, 'cause this AIN'T COOL! The policeman said this isn't uncommon, but they must still check out such calls. Guess I'm awake NOW!

Class this afternoon. Dang - it's past 6am now and still pitch black out. Shudder. I haven't been (woken) up this late in yonks. This is a time for getting to bed, not getting up from't. And that's what I think I'm gonna do: crash for a bit longer.
