alpha set was actually released in 1992, and beta in late 1992/early 1993. BY the end of 93, beginning of 94, they had already released Arabian Nights and 4th edition. one could say from this that it came out in 1992.

not sure if it is relevant... just thought i would put my useless knowledge to an attempted use.

Appreciated muchly. I seem to recall it being late '92/early '93 myself, 'cause 1993 is when I remember starting to play, after they came out at Strategicon aka Orccon. Ah, yes, back when you could buy a full set of black border betas for $350...if we only knew then what we know now...

they still ruined the whole collector's side of it by releasing chronicles. pissed me off, and i collected for rarity not for money. i HAD leviathan, and it was a great rare card to play, suddenly, everyone had 10 of them. just ruined the balance of the game, in my opinion. i stopped collecting shortly there after.

i see many sights that disagree with me, but i knew people who had alpha cards barely into my senior year in high school, and that was 92... so i don't know if they got a leak or advanced copy.
