Weaknesses w/out Disaster

Wandered into IKEA this afternoon w/the idea of getting blinds and/or curtains to replace the ones that've been here at home for nearly a decade. Fargo has fairly methodically chewed on the cords and time has taken its toll as well, so they don't actually close or open all the way. I admit to being a bit of an exhibitionist, but would like the privacy option available when I so choose. Sigh. The joys of home decorating w/cats.
I picked up several sizes of blinds and a couple sets of curtains in a GREAT bee fabric. Yes, fabric is a weakness o' mine. Quite silly too, since I don't really sew. Still, my aunt kindly volunteered to hem and whatnot so I figured why not. The potential for disaster in this visit loomed large, as I hadn't actually gotten around to MEASURING my windows before this trip. Thank goodness for standard sized window coverings! Ended up w/a long and two narrows grey blinds which'll fit the bedroom windows perfectly, ditto a medium for the narrow living room window. Must figure out if'n I'm gonna go w/blinds for the big living room window or use the LONG curtains (118" versus the 67" for blinds that'll fit better). Mebbe I'll save the fabric for something else - or just return 'em. Also gotta get two (2) sets of medium-sized blinds for the dining room. And prolly a set of mediums for the other bedroom window (by the 'puter hutch).
Next step: Take out/off the mini-blinds. Not looking quite so easy as I'd hope. Then get hooks for hanging up the blinds. Would like to get it done in the next couple of weeks so they're up by my Decade-Here Anniversary (December 1, 2005). Wow & yow!
Have realized that I'm feeling really quite CONTENT today and these daze. It's a delightful feeling. Long may it last!
