Damnit

Brushing my teeth this morning I dribbled/squirted water out of my mouth (right side) when trying to rinse my mouth out - not normal. Just couldn't keep a seal w/my lips. I looked at my face in the mirror, smiled, and began worrying, very mildly, 'bout Bell's Palsy, which I suffered a bout of in 1994 (or mebbe 1993). Driving home I noticed my right eye tearing. Constantly. It's still tearing. Vision's a bid odd, too. Have spent much of the day napping. As the day's progressed, it's gotten more noticeable. Smile's definitely a bit lopsided now (muscles on right side not fully/properly heeding my commands). Mouth (right side) and tongue feels like a couple of hours after visiting the dentist when the novacaine's not quite worn off all the way yet. Damnit. Now I'm nervous and concerned. Will call Kaiser at 7am o'morrow for a same-day. I remember from last time that some kinda steroid (Prednisone) helped somewhat (certainly made me happy & gleeful). Not happy now. Worried in fact. Scared. PO'd at my body.

Thx muchly. Recovered fully last time, too, although it took a while. Assuming this is what 'tis based on last time and quickie research (http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/bells/detail_bells.htm), but will check w/doc o'morrow.

Thank you, sweets. Shouldn't be a big deal, just more drugs (steroids tend to make me v. happy) and waiting for this to pass.

Eeep. That is very disheartening. My sister was born with Bells Palsey, and her face still droops a little on one side. It added to her allure, I guess.

I understand and sympathize, and if it is mild and around for a while... I will consider it an additional part of YOUR allure.

A Leer As Alluring...

Yuck. Hugs to you, well wishes, and you'll conquer it, I know it!

Oh, and ignore my previous post, I hadn't gotten to this one yet.

Thx. It's gonna be fine, just takes a while to get over.

Heh-heh, just e-mailed you the info link plus the text to this LJ post in case you missed it, so you can now ignore IT. ;-)
