........................................................Um, I guess if'n you want me to ask you qx, you comment below, then I ask and you post the qx & your answers and these rules (such as they are) in YOUR LJ.

(1) what do you feel is your greatest creative outlet? not neccessarily the thing you are best at, but the thing you either get the most pleasure from or the one you use the most. if the one you use the most is not the one you derive the greatest pleasure from, why not?”
Making music compilations. Sometimes I'll do it by theme, or to represent a mood, an era, a style, an artist. They've become soundtracks to my life and I've got nearly all the tapes/CDs I've made over the past quarter century. They're great fun to make, listen to, and share w/others who can stand 'em, best if'n they're enjoyed and appreciated by others, too. I bought the car summer before last in (large) part b'c it came w/6-CD in-dash changer and A TAPE DECK so I could keep listening to my tapes whilst driving, which I love to do (both listen & drive and listen while driving).

(2) you are given a lump sum of $350,000, tax free (don't ask me how, it's freakin' hypothetical!). what do you do with it? how does it change your life (if at all)?” - Paid off ALL my debt, helped my parents w/the down payment on their house, bought a new car and computer, lent money to friends in need, then stashed the rest in the bank for retirement and to add a certain amount of luxury to my life (good meals out, some travel, stuff like that). How it changed my life: the peace of mind re: money matters from knowing it's there is INCREDIBLY NICE (and having been without, I can truly appreciate this)!“

(3) what is your driving purpose or motivation?” - Don't currently have one in particular. I tend to do best w/projects, 'specially school-based (degrees, exams, credentials, and the like), but amn't involved w/anything right now. I have for the moment stopped worrying about having any driving purpose or motivation and instead choose to live day-to-day, week by week, month by month, getting involved in whatever comes up...I do like to be useful though.“

(4) if you could spend one week with any non-fictional historical figure, who would it be? what would you seek from them? where would you go? what would you do? - Francis Bacon (artist). I'd seek stuff 'bout what made him tick, what prompted him to do what he did, created what he created. I'd tag along, listening, watching, learning. My father did this at one point (he's some sort of cousin) and I'd like to go back when he visited and see them interact.

(5) would you rather drive or fly across the country? why?” - I've done both, more than once. If I have the time, a decent car, and preferably a travelling companion, I love driving across the country, seeing what's there, meeting different people, exploring the wide wacky world of the U.S.A. (Last did it driving from Nova Scotia to Sta Monica in the Summer of 2004.) If I have limited time and am going for something in particular and need just to get there to do whatever I need to do (such as a memorial service where time is of the essence), then I'll fly b'c it's far faster. Haven't taken the train across, but would like to do so sometime. Have travelled across the U.S. by Greyhound bus three times...NEVER AGAIN. .........................

the southern Amtrak route is currently out of commission due to hurricane, so unless you want to wind up going through Chicago I recommend waiting on the train option...;) But it would be fabulous to be able to take a couple weeks to just kick back on a train and watch the scenery go by there and back, wouldn't it?
