Managing Jealousy Within Polyamorous/Multiple-Partner Relationships
Location: Berkeley
Tuesday, November 15, 2005, 8-10 pm
$25, all welcome

Jealousy is one of the most common and complex emotions that we experience. Although it crops up in all sorts of situations, it plays a particularly important and often unaddressed role in polyamory, swinging, and other forms of multiple relationships. Drawing on personal history as well as on the results of a nine-month research group, workshop presenters and facilitators Akien MacIain and Dawn Davidson will help you understand some of the origins and meanings of jealousy. You’ll learn some new tools and useful skills to help you work with and move through your jealousy, as well as where to go for further resources. Whatever your current relationship circumstances or experience with multiple partners, they’ll help you find new ways to deal with the hard stuff and get back to having fun!

"It" in this case being the seminars/workshops or the entire Poly concept?

This particular seminar, with these particular presenters... wholly my opinion, and completely slanderous, but I wouldn't ever trust their "professional expertise" in anything...

Poly itself is a series of long, involved discussions with lots of wine or cider and no conclusions, only more questions... ;)

And thx for the input - appreciated as I don't know 'bout any of these folks and am just passing along what looks like an interesting thingiemabob.

Akien MacIain and Dawn Davidson. Kn ow them not well but well enough to know I don't trust their concepts, approaches and boundaries. If you are interested in some immersion, I'd actually suggest something a bit more involved but likely much more enlightening...

I have been and gotten much that is useful out of it... especially the hot/cold plunges *snicker*

Were I in a position to, I'd happily pitch a tent with you for the weekend. Could be verra fun coming at it from the other side now. (Not trying to force myself to accept poly in order to keep my relationship but embrace it cuz in some ways it truly does fit for me)

No worries! It's not like I'm making plans beyond the next doctor's visit...

But... I have a big beautiful tent and a wonderful queen size air mattress and the pimp daddy of all camping chairs, tons of sarongs (Harbin is clothing optional)... and I am not above taunting. ;p

Ah, but keep in mind how fast technology changes . Who knows what new and wonderous updates will take place in the camp-chair world over the next 8 months? ;-P
