Went to bed at 10pm, exhausted. Fell asleep pretty quickly. Woke up around 2:30am. After tossing & turning for nearly an hour, I got up, threw on my bathrobe, and headed to the backyard for a great sitting while watching the full moon session. Feeling chilly, I eventually came back inside. And now it's now (4:30am), and sleep might be acoming, again. Or not... From past experience, I'll likely fall back soundly asleep around 6am. Currently have an alarm set for 8:30am to get up and go walkies at Mt Tabor before it gets too crowded and too hot. May shift that to 9am. Really want to go, as I won't go over the weekend when it gets crowded. Or mebbe I'll go early in the AM over the weekend. *yawn*
My photo here is from Ecola Beach, just North of Cannon Beach, OR, approximately 2012. Just read that, due to people acting selfishly foolish and ignoring social-distancing rules (and this weekend's forecast of fine weather in the 80s), Cannon Beach has joined Seaside in closing its beaches for the weekend. Seaside's have been closed for weeks now. Cannon Beach's will close from today through Tuesday. "City of Cannon Beach announced beach closure is effective from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9th thru Tuesday, May 12th at 7:00 p.m for both residents and visitors."

Date: 2020-05-08 10:29 pm (UTC)That really sucks, about closing the beaches. It shouldn't be that hard for people to give each other a little room.

Just today they cancelled the Annual Cannon Beach Corgi Beach Con in late July. :-( Better safe than sorry - and hopefully 2021's will happen, but still a bummer. I'll keep my associated hotel reservations (2 nights in Seaside and 2 nights in Wheeler) until the start of July, in case places open by then, although I'm pretty sure the latter'll be out of business by then. :-( Even if they do open, I'll spend my entire time in the rooms, or perhaps roaming Seaside beaches IF they're open and IF folks aren't idiots.
