Terminal Dx...and Industrial Polka

Because it's all about the balance.

On the sucktastic side, a Dear Friend's gone terminal.

On a more positive note, this serves as a fine momentary pick-me-up piece.

Engaged in much walkies & talkies today, first in downtown PDX (hit Farmer's Market for brief catch-up w/sidhefire then over to Powell's and finally landing at Lan Su Garden) and then (after a spell at home) up to Mt Tabor Park (96 stairs sans stopping) w/magn0lia w/reward meal afterwards at Cheese Bar.

I don't really have much to say right now. Life changes. It moves on. The cast o' characters shifts, with some leaving the stage while new folks walk on for a spell.

Gonna go bury my nose in fiction, then crawl into bed, only to get up in the AM for wildflower walkies (hopefully w/delerium3), and to continue living my life as well as I possibly can...

Oh Emily, I am so sorry to hear about your friend! it is certainly true that as you say, "to continue living my life as well as I possibly can... " is all that any of us can do in the face of our inevitable mortality.

I'm sorry to hear about Jay. I am glad, though, that you and he have been able to spend time together through this and that he has a remarkable support system in place. Consider yourself hugged tightly.

And I'm jealous you got to spend quality time with sidhefire! And at two of my fave places in the world...Lan Su and Powell's. Here's for the healing power of good friends, beauty and books!

Actually, I left her to her own devices after the Farmer's Market (she'd visited Powell's earlier in the day) and roamed out bookishly 'n' for gardens solo. Was fun to see her and catch up!
