Very much enjoyed a couple days of sweet mellowness at Harbin Hot Springs. Soaked up the sun and soaked myself in hot waters during the day, under the stars, and as the new day dawned and the sky shifted from pink to peach to orange. Emerald green hills galore, a frenzy of flowers, lotsa fambily-visiting yesterday, today, and o'morrow. ZipZipZoom! Many Pics Here At Flickr Set.

I remember riding the cattle ranges in territory much like that... I would be paid to ride the fence and keep it tight and in good repair, along with checking the wandering herds to fix or report problems in health or injury- just general stuff. ONE side of the fence of the pasture I took care of the most was 7 miles on one side. :) That's a LOT of cattle range!!

I am oddly happy here, the 'scablands' as they call them, are not ugly... the wildlife is TEEMING here, and there are open cattle ranges for the public/local use, as well as large private ranches, dotting the landscape between the fruit orchards... it's really not a bad place to be, if you love the outdoors!

Neat memories - thx for sharing. I'm glad you're happy there and aware of the wildlife and all that lives out where it looks initially so bare. Must be lovely now w/fruit orchards blooming. :-)

OH yeah... I'm not strong enough to hike yet, but there's rambling trails that go up into the mountains (or tall hills! lol) and even from the highway you can see some of the most amazing wildlife. We saw a Bighorn sheep just surverying the land while he laid on an outcropping, and you see Martens all over the place... Coyotes, even River Otters! Some of the things I look for the most in the Seattle area that just won't come NEAR man... but here they'll be right up close!

I can't wait for a camping trip later in the season!
