A Good Day
Feb. 28th, 2012 07:54 pmWas - and felt - productive today. Actually, this continues, although I'm taking an LJ-sized break right now. After last night's successful Sleeping Flippy-Floppy maneuver (untucking sheet 'n 'blanket and shifting 180 degrees so my pillows 'n' head were where my feet usually are) netted some seriously sweet snoozle-time, I got up and scurried over to L. Alan Arts to help L. move art outta his office cum gallery to Madison's Banquet Hall in preparation for this Saturday's 1st Anniversary art extravaganza/event (Beheld 2012). It runs 6-10pm on 3/3/12. Do come, if'n it sounds appealing, as it'll be grand fun!
Anyway, I ended up having a fine time hitting A-Boy for supplies, removing bolts 'n' nails from the former office space, spackling and doing touch-up painting as needed in the former office space, helping empty said space, and then moving furniture, lights, music, &c. into his pickup and art into my vehicle (Mobile Hive). After a (well-deserved and much-needed) lunch (which also included some really good deep-convo that's helping me wrap my head around some mega-important stuff), we off-loaded the art 'n' lights into the space for Saturday eve's show. Thankfully, we managed to do this before 'n' between the worst of the last?/current round of winter storms.
Afterward I could've prolly headed out in time to make the PDX Powell's book signing thingiemabob, but I realized I needed some ME time. I stayed home here a the Hive, continuing the Getting Sh!t Done trend. Feels really good to be home and to be getting stuff done. It also feels really good to feel really good about being home (and accomplishing sh!t).
Some structure, decent accomplishments = inspiration/motivation for more. May this continue...
This weekend should be fun. M's coming up from SF for a long weekend (Th pm - Tu am). We've also got tix for the March Forth Marching Band's anniversary show on March 4, which'll be silly, fascinating, and fun. Various options for other activities exit. What else we end up doing remains to be seen. Lotsa playing it by ear and seeing what the mood compels us to do.
Doing much better w/the moving/getting on w/life nowadays. Talking will (likely) help, too, but I'm doing it on my own anyway. PHEW!
Still somewhat directionless, but not as concerned 'bout it right now.
