Distractions
Aug. 15th, 2005 05:59 pmHad a fab w'end at Bear Faire! Actually WORKED Faire for the 1st time ever: wore a yellow sash and rang a bell and/or flitted about during public news readings and parades. The Criers camp consists of a friendly and fun bunch. Entertained (and was entertained by) a houseful of 'em all w'end long and had a mess more over Sat eve. Took out a veritable doorstop-ful >hee< of bottles, cans, and whatnot to recycling this morn. Took us 'til Sunday afternoon to see the entire Faire...and thinking we still missed some bits. No, 'twasn't a particularly large site, but we kept getting >ahem< distracted.
Up late lots. Interesting thoughts 'bout the Faerie Zone: where shapes flit about just on the periphery of your vision, when you only glimpse glances of movement and shinyness out of the corners of your eye, where the world's brighter than usual and time stops for a time. Started me thunking 'bout other things we're aware of more from the side angle than right straight head on. Sometimes I forget that I can't confront everything that bugs me and deal with it directly. Sometimes I must wait and let its form coalesce to have a better idea of what I'm up against and/or dealing with. At times this works better when worked on within, not so much consciously as under the radar, whilst other stuff's going on externally/consciously. It can be frustrating, as I've managed to lose a lot of patience - or at least use up quite a store of it - over the years.
Is Patience a renewable resource? Is it mined or harvested? (Or invested?) I'd like to identify those factors needed to optimize its production capacity and, if possible, work on shaping my world such that there's more available as needed...or such that there's less need for't.
Much happiness and glee abounding in my life these daze! Next D&D session is this Wed (8/17). We'll arrive in D-town D'ney 'tween 12:30-1pmish for lunch and then hit the park(s) for much fun and frolicking. Wanna come? So much more happenin', too. Too much to consider all at once after a long w'end away and w/stuff to put away blah blah blah. Must go play more w/the kitties.
