It began last Wednesday, when I drove up from the Hive to CopperMoon, stopping off along the way to join [livejournal.com profile] vismaya_viewer in the cherry-popping of the new Orphanage patio space (w/freshly planted container garden of pretty edibles). She prepared one of her trad'l Art Salads(tm) - as lovely as 'twas tasty along w/Thai iced tea from scratch. (I helped...and next time I'll add the honey BEFORE all the ice ;-) The next stop after that found me snagging the amazing [livejournal.com profile] lightfoote aka ALF for some hanging out before heading over to MS to get [livejournal.com profile] wildwoosi aka WW so we3 could head to the gym where we3 played a bit of r-ball together before ALF & I played a few games while WW worked out on various machines. THEN we made it up to CopperMoon.

Thursday morning I puttered about, feeding birds, tidying up some, hauling out garbage & recycyling, &c. whilst my fellow CopperMoonies commuted to and did their respective job-things. I then toodled down to fetch ALF and head Southward. Bound ultimately for Sidhehaven (where we caught up w/the clan and had a mellow night), we broke up the journey quite nicely w/a tour of Third Thursday Tacoma w/[livejournal.com profile] vismaya_viewer (and after he made it from work, [livejournal.com profile] stinkys_nunzio as well). To make sure we had the energy for a mess of free museum/art galleries, the evening began w/fortifications in the shape of sushi and sake at TwoKoi finished off by sharing gloriously decadent cupcakes. YUMBO!

Then we were ready to art. We visited
Sasquatch, ogled cool Chess Pieces, and then walked over the Bridge of Glass to the Museum of Glass for a couple of modern dance pieces (I never really know what to make of such things), an amazing mesh of Native American art in a non-traditional medium (glass) c/o Preston Singletary, and oogled incredibly weird wacky wonderful glass creations based on kids' imaginations (drawings & descriptions), and a visit to the hot shop to watch glass work in person. It was grand fun!

Friday, [livejournal.com profile] sidhefire fed us oh-so-nicely w/homemade crepes w/numbly filling and awesome gravy, and then guided me and ALF (making all the hard decisions herself) as we helped her carve out the last remaining corner of the garage-turned-into-art-studio space. We toted and hauled and organized and stacked and won a victory over boxes and clutter! After that, ALF & I took off to check out possible rivers to float and put-ins 'n' take-outs. Along the way I was thrilled to find an organic worm 'n' topsoil/potting soil farm. The back of the Mobile Hive now contains several cubic feet of good rich stuff for the Hive's plants.

Saturday found us zooming along back roads to avoid Hwy 5's nightmarish construction (triple-lane closures where there're only 4 lanes to start with) and deliver ALF by Noon to LRS to roadie the BPO show taking place later that evening. We timed it quite well and made it to Seattle in time to grab lunch at a place he'd been talking about for a long time so I was glad to try: Cyber-Dogs Cafe. More yum! My plans, meanwhile, found me at House Cerulia. I got to catch up w/three-quarters of the lovely ladies who live there while enjoying numbly Trophy cupcakes and helping friends move (it IS my hobby, after all ;-) Eventually I hooked back up w/the BPO prep crew (ALF & WW) for dinner at LRS followed by a marvelous BPO show w/much dancing and visiting w/people and great music. After we3 helped load the van after the show, I drove us home where we crashed hard.

Sunday was slow-moving and PB-filled: fetching the car from Snohomish, testing out
Frost Donuts (sorta like VooDoo Donuts, only it's in WA and not nearly as funky, being located in a YupScale Mall 'n' all ;-), planting the Garden of Love - this year dedicated to WW's daughter 'n' son-in-law who'll be celebrating their marriage w/U.S. fambily later this summer - w/flowers in colors she loves (and planting it on the occasion of their 2nd wedding anniversary). Otherwise there was napping, watching movies, reading novels in bubbly baths, &.

Monday (yesterday), I zoomed down from CopperMoon. The four (4) hour drive just ain't as fun as it used to be...sigh. After some kittenhead-catch-up time, I headed out the door again for a
Portland Beavers game w/[livejournal.com profile] ferociousbcycad. I had a good time, despite some less-than-ideal transportation issues, and'd be up for it again some time. We discovered the field-level bar, open to all (regardless of ticket purchased), w/TVs showing the basketball play-offs, and spent the last bit of the game up close to the field action. I'll stick up a picture or two eventually.

Now it's Tuesday. I'll go see Pagan Jug Band play Clinton Corner Cafe (6:30-8:30pm - FREE), as usual, along w/whoever shows up. There's gardening to do, but unless it warms up and dries out a fair amount, I'm putting it off. O'morrow's for packing for the we3 float-plane to Victoria, B.C. trip (Fri - Sun, w/Sat set for Butchart Garden). Th I Amtrak Northward. Tu I Amtrak back. Monday we'll MayPole (hey, it's still May...barely ;-)

I'm tired now after reliving the past week-long weekend and looking ahead at the calendar. Today's gonna be for mellow and kittenhead clustering (and catching up w/bills &c.)
