When Jim bought his Aspire One (a tiny net-book laptop) I thought he was crazy- it sports a 10.1 inch screen... but I have used it, and you know, for the purposes of searching the web, doing homework, doing email, etc... it's GREAT!! That's all he ever uses it for, and it's PERFECT. He uses it to take notes in school, and the tiny screen doesn't hamper that kind of thing even a little! I am very surprised!
That said, I plan to buy a MUCH bigger screen if I ever get a laptop- because my primary use for a laptop would be photography. I would be using it to edit with photoshop, so would be in need of a BIG screen to see subtle details- I know me, I would also use it to play games, which are more fun on a larger screen... it's not likely I will afford one anytime soon, but that's the thing, ya know? Everyone's needs and uses are different!
I'd say not to be worried about the screen size unless you're doing a LOT on it- it shows the full screen in a smaller size, sure, but you can always use the zoom feature!
