mlerulesBureaucracy ain't nearly so thick/inhuman/stupid as in SoCal/elsewhere. My recent experience postponing jury service and again today dealings w/academic advising at Portland Community College (PCC) went swimmingly. All along the way I dealt with helpful, patient, interested, competent people w/out waiting too long. Now that I've gotten all that pesky prerequisite/placement test nonsense waived, I'm registered and enrolled in History of Oregon for Fall 2009 at a campus on a good bus line just two (2) miles from my house. Quite looking forward to it. Figure since I live here, I should know a bit more 'bout my state than the little bits of info I've picked up by stopping and reading stuff at Hwy rest stops, historical markers, &c. It's been several years since I've taken a class of any kind and I'm excited 'bout it.
