Has anybody out there been to a show at the Showbox at the Market in Seattle? I'd like to know thoughts/opinions/hints/suggestions about seeing shows there.

Unless it's horrid, I'm quite interested in heading out yonder for VNV Nation on Wed, July 1, 2009 (tix = $25 + $2 svc charge if purchased at the box office M-F 11am-6pm).

Other Good Upcoming Shows Include:

The Orb - Mon, June 15, 2009 (I prolly won't go to this, but I saw The Orb years ago at the new Disney Symphony Hall and 'twas a FAB experience).

Rev Horton Heat - Fri, July 10 & Sat, July 11, 2009. Oooooooh, THIS would be great, assuming the venue's decent.

Awesome weekend. I'm back at the Hive massively recharged and excited about upcomings. Must hop to it though and start lining up the next ducks in a row (as well as putting away the previously used ones). Peace Out Zoom!

I've been to that place a few times. It's extra loud in my opinion, so I always bring earplugs. Depending on the concert, it can be more on the "crowded" side rather than "intimate." Beyond that, parking can be... innovative.

But all this aside, it is a great venue and I've had a lot of good memories from the place. I remember seeing the Reverend in this venue the night that Johnny Cash died. They tore the place DOWN.

I saw a comedy show there once, but I guess for a concert it would be like most smallish venues. Loud and crowded. But I like that. In fact Holly, Marc, Nef and Myself will be going to the Rev's show. At the moment I am thinking I bought tix for the Saturday gig, but I must review the tickets at home to be sure I didn't get Friday. And yes, the Rev will be a fabulous show! We saw him and his boys at the Showbox Sodo last year and the gig was a blast. It was at my insistance that we go again. The Rev has a fan fer life in me!

I've heard it's good to get to the Showbox early and go into the bar before the show, since they let those ticket holders holding drinks in first. ;o)
