The homelessness/mental health link is one of the reasons Jim was SO dissillusioned with his job as a Pharmacy Tech at the pharmacy serving compass up here- he would see insurance companies deny medicine to folks, who then end up getting wacko again, and end up on the streets... one of his clients died, after a change of medicine (not to say the medicine caused it by any means) but it was really hard to see the difficulty of seriously mentally ill patients not /being/ medicated even tho they're willing, because of the insurance situation. :(
