Heading North

mlerulesWe've landed in Santa Nella, CA for the night. Had dinner at Harris Ranch then kept on keeping on, heading Northward towards HOME (Hive for me, Petting Zoo for ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

I'm feeling the heat quite a bit today, primarily b'c the damn AC gave out in the UHaul about 20 minutes into the trip, at which point we were stuck in nasty-@ss traffic (which didn't last too long luckily) and NOT about to deal w/tracking down another truck, unloading and repacking everything and then getting back onto the road likely just in time for the hellaciousness that's SoCal's rush hour traffic (which we mostly missed, as per plan). Kudos & many thx to LJ-free J'bo for skipping most his work-day and helping us load the truck and to ebony_sphynx for her able loading and packing assistance plus frequent helpful reminders to stay hydrated.
Our musical amusements're limited to AM/FM radio. We learned today that once you get over the Grapevine and land in the Central Valley, 106.7 shifts from KROQ to the JUG (constant country 'n' fun). *gar* Twiddling the knob to find something else led us to X-tian rock. Other options included: ranting Right-wing religious radio and Spanish-language stations. Eventually we lucked into airshot of some good Fresno stations playing odd assortments of good stuff. Who knows what o'morrow will bring?!
Plan is to make it past Medford, OR o'morrow. Mebbe we'll even make it to Roseburg, OR.
And now, to shower and to sleep...
